1️⃣ Question: What's a REV2 board?
Answer: The FIRST and ONLY automotive aftermarket ECU with FlexRay protocol support, providing standalone ECU features such as DIRECT port fuel injector control, boost solenoid control among many others, as well as adding an expansive list of sensor inputs to supplement tuning abilities like never before, while running on a high-performance 32-bit Power Architecture MCU for Automotive Applications.
2️⃣ Question: What do you mean DIRECT control?
Answer: Direct pulse width modulation (PWM) is achieved by utilizing spare outputs on the factory DME, repurposed for REV2 use, courtesy of the bootmod3 CustomROM.
3️⃣ Question: Why not CAN bus?
Answer: We wanted direct control to minimize overhead and potential message loss inherent in CAN bus communication. Both the factory DME and REV2 employ PWM control for fuel injectors.
4️⃣ Question: What the heck is FlexRay?
Answer: FlexRay represents a cutting-edge automotive communications protocol, designed to rectify various limitations of the CAN bus system. Its architecture prioritizes high data rates, fault tolerance, and ensures reliable message delivery.
5️⃣ Question: What other outputs can it control?
Answer: Various PWM devices, such as nitrous solenoids, methanol injection solenoids, fuel pumps, etc.
6️⃣ Question: What sensors can it handle?
Answer: Compatible with a wide range of 0-5V analog or digital sensors, including two pre-configured EGT inputs.
